Week 3: May 28th - June 1st

OUTCOMES: This week I attended a full day of CMS training as the sit-in web content specialist. I assisted the trainer with questions and helped the trainees with their hands-on experiments with the system and helped them understand the concepts behind the application.

COMMUNICATION: Aside from face-to-face training of employees in CMS, I also had some meetings with Susan to go over the past couple weeks and what projects I have been working on and what steps to take next.

NEXT WEEK’S GOALS: Next week Jeff and I will finish up the customized scripts and templates for the new Purchasing and Contracts page. I will also be working with Jeff, Susan and the other interns on the CMS 2002 upgrade project (which we finally will be getting underway).

REFLECTIONS: Although not Digital Media related, my speech classes helped prepare me for talking to the CMS class about some concepts and functions of the CMS application. Although I have not had any experience in teaching, I was able to use what I learned in my speech class to help organize my thoughts and orally present them in a professional manner.

OTHER: This week was also slow, but this was due to the Memorial Day holiday, Susan being out sick, and I had to take a day off of work for personal reasons. On Friday we set up next week's schedule, so we will be working double duty next week.
